The spectacular Jack Nicklaus Signature course is conveniently situated near OR Tambo International Airport between Johannesburg and Pretoria.  It is the first 27-hole golf course in Gauteng and the sixth Nicklaus-designed course in South Africa (The others being Pecanwood, Pearl Valley, Simola, St Francis Links and Houghton).

The cool season-grassed playing areas provide a wonderful spectacle, especially in the starkness of the Highveld winter. Cool season grasses means green vistas all year round, and Serengeti is one of the first courses with these grasses in Gauteng.

Serengeti comprises an 18-hole course, named Masai Mara, which has a rugged grassland and dune-scape look, and a 9-hole course named Whistling Thorn, which has a more classic feel.

The course has been designed as a strategic and technical masterpiece that will test today’s best players, but at the same time is the ideal course for beginners. One of the unique features on the course is the par-five eighth hole with its island green.

The course was constructed in accordance with USGA specifications and the sunken design of the course with its wide corridors is ideal for tournament purposes, providing optimal spectator value on almost every hole. Weather shelters and toilet facilities are strategically situated on the course. An engineer-designed drainage system allows play to continue without too much delay after a typical Highveld storm.

The Serengeti Clubhouse is an impressive 6 500m2 building. It is not only aesthetically appealing but also very functional with all the amenities one would expect in such a world-class environment.
